Ajay Devgn has created havoc at the box office with one of his most loved characters Vijay Salgaonkar. Drishyam 2 has gotten the cash registers ringing at the box office in its first weekend. The film has garnered critical acclaim and excellent word of mouth. The footfall at theatres has increased to the point that multiplex chains have added midnight shows to fulfill the demand for Drishyam 2. The film is expected to grow over the weekend and attain a great weekend number.
The film opened with a bang at the box office recording multiple houseful show across India. It has taken one of the biggest starts for a Bollywood film in 2022, and seeing the phenomenal response from the audience, multiplex chains have started mid-night screenings on public demand. Day 3 for Drishyam 2 has made all the Trade Connoisseurs’ Calculations go for a Spin by giving another super strong number!! The first Sunday of the film garnered 27.17 CRS giving a weekend grand total of 64.14 crores.
PVR cinema has opened an 11.59 pm show at multiple properties in Mumbai and the audiences are storming into the hall even for the late-night shows. Other cinema halls are expected to follow the move of mid-night screenings.
The official synopsis of Drishyam 2 reads, "Seven years after the case related to Vijay and his family was closed, a series of unexpected events brings a truth to light that threatens to change everything for the Salgaonkars."
