Neena Gupta’s love for her daughter Masaba knows no bounds. The actress, who single-handedly brought up the acclaimed fashion designer-turned-actor out of wedlock, is a force to reckon with today. Neena was in a relationship with West Indies cricketer Viv Richards when she got pregnant with Masaba but since he was already married they could not go ahead with the relationship and she decided to bring her up alone. Now, in a recent interview, Neena said that she believes a relationship between a man and a woman doesn’t start with love but lust and said that she has experienced love only for her daughter Masaba.
Sharing her thoughts on it, Neena told a popular social media page said, “I don’t think there is anything called love between a man and a woman. I think it starts with lust and then if you get along, you get affectionate towards each other, then it becomes a habit. The only love that I have felt is for Masaba. I don’t know, other people might have felt but mujhe nahi samajh aata. Everything is lust in the beginning and then it can take direction and you can get married or not married or you go with somebody else. It’s only with a child that I feel I can do anything. For my husband I can do a lot but I will not do anything for him like I do for Masaba.”
The actress tied the knot with Vivek Mehra, a Charted Accountant from Delhi in 2008 and is blissfully married now. On the other hand, she made a stellar comeback with Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Badhaai Ho and went on to win hearts across the country for her impeccable performance. Since then, there is no stopping the veteran actress and she went on to prove her mettle once again with projects like Panchayat, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and teamed up with daughter Masaba Gupta for their web series Masaba Masaba. She was also seen in Goodbye.
The actress’ last release Uunchai is also doing good business at the box office. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parineeti Chopra, Sarika and Danny Denzongpa. It is directed by Sooraj Barjatya and is produced under his home banner Rajshri Films.
