Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale, known for his illustrious career in the Hindi and Marathi entertainment industry, was admitted to Pune's Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. He was reportedly admitted in critical condition around 15 days ago. Amid his ongoing treatment, there were rumours last night that the veteran actor passed away. As the news spread like wildfire, the family members of the National Award-winning actor broke their silence and put an end to false speculations.
Talking to a media agency, Vikram's daughter clarified that though he remains critical, he is alive. "He is still critical and on life support. He has not passed away yet. Keep praying for him," she told the media agency. The doctor who is treating the actor also informed the media agency that the news of his demise is untrue.

Vikram's wife Vrushali Gokhale further told a leading daily that he is on a ventilator and has slipped into coma. "He slipped into coma yesterday afternoon and post that, he has not responded to touch. He is on ventilator. Doctors will decide tomorrow morning what to do, depending on whether he's improving, sinking or still not responding. He improved a bit but slipped again. He has had a host of issues, like in heart and kidney. At the moment, he has had a multi-organ failure," Vrushali told.
As per a section of the media, rumours were rife a few months ago that Gokhale is suffering from cancer. The family is yet to talk about the reason behind his deteriorating health.
