On November 27, PeepingMoon.com exclusively informed its readers that Kajol is reuniting with Karan Johar for a new film. The actress will be headlining Kayoze Irani's directorial with Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's son Ibrahim Ali Khan. Now, there's a new development with regard to the film.
Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran will be sharing the screen space with Kajol and Ibrahim in the Karan Johar-produced film. While details of his character are not out, it will be interesting to see a new on-screen casting. The yet-to-be-titled film will go on floors in January 2023.
The film is said to be an emotional thriller centered around Kashmiri terrorism. A source close to the development told PeepingMoon, "Kajol will play an emotionally strong character and will share the maximum screen time with Ibrahim Ali Khan. She has worked with Ibrahim’s father, Saif Ali Khan, in films like Dillagi, Hameshaa, and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, and is thrilled to act with his son now in his very first film. Ibrahim has also started his prep and is readying himself to share screen space with seasoned actors like Kajol."
It marks the acting debut of Ibrahim, who worked as an assistant director on Karan's directorial comeback Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Prithviraj's last Hindi film was Naam Shabana (2017). Kajol is currently promoting her upcoming film titled Salaam Venky.
