Megha Thakur, Canadian Tik Tok star, died ‘suddenly and unexpectedly’ on November 24, 2022 in the early morning hours. Her parents took to social media to share the news of her untimely demise. Megha was only 21 years-old. Megha, who had over 930k followers on TikTok, was known for promoting body positivity and frequently shared videos of her dancing.
In an Instagram post, her parents revealed that she passed away on November 24. Sharing her birth date of July 17, 2001 and giving details of the funeral service, they wrote, “It is with heavy hearts we announce the light of our life, our kind, caring, and beautiful daughter, Megha Thakur, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on November 24, 2022 in the early morning hours. Megha was a confident and independent young woman. She will be dearly missed. She loved her fans and would have wanted you to know of her passing. At this time, we request your blessings for Megha. Your thoughts and prayers will be with her in her onward journey. - Megha's loving parents.”
Megha’s death came as a rude shock to her fans that took to the comments section and also paid tributes to her on Twitter.

this is so sad. i didnt even know her and i ended up listening to her podcast and been crying for one hour. the way she talked about how "great" she feels about her life.. each time she talked about her happiness.. im like :'((

all i know is that she put herself out there in the world because she wanted to be witnessed. we all do, right? and i did - i witnessed her with a strong but silent personal investment.

anyway, she impacted my life in so many small ways. she was beginning to find happiness + self love after years of mental health issues. success was inching closer - it had a foot in the door. everyone knew, and everyone incl me was cheering her on. she just passed in car crash.

Megha’s parents had moved to Canada when she was just one-year-old. After passing out from Mayfield Secondary School in 2019, she joined the Western University and made her TikTok debut after joining college. She used to speak about Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid in her videos.
