Disney has been an important part of everyone's childhood and even adulthood. Princesses like Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, and Moana have taught us several crucial life lessons over the years. Now, it is time to meet the first Indian Disney princess.
According to an international publication, Disney has greenlit an original musical film, which is reportedly "inspired by a dynamic princess from Indian history". The musical will be directed and produced by Gurinder Chadha. She will be writing the Disney project with Paul Mayeda Berges.
The yet-to-be-titled film is under Sean Bailey, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production. Lindy Goldstein will be producing the film through her Lindy Goldstein Production banner. Further details are still under tight wraps.
Gurinder, a British film director of Indian origin, was nominated twice for the BAFTA Award, once for her debut film Bhaji on the Beach and secondly for the film Bend It Like Beckham.
