Ranbir Kapoor was at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah recently. It was his first public appearance after the birth of his daughter Raha Kapoor. During an interview with a local media house, the doting daddy showed the right way to pronounce his baby girl's name.
While talking to a reporter, Ranbir pronounced his daughter's name. He said, "Yes, thank you. Her name is Raha (Raa-Haa) ()." The new dad in town couldn't stop smiling as he pronounced his newborn baby's name.
Ranbir and Alia Bhatt welcomed Raha on November 6. Sharing the meaning of her name, Alia wrote on Instagram, "The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings…Raha, in its purest form means divine path, in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla - rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. And true to her name, from the first moment we held her - we felt it ALL! Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun."
Alia and Ranbir announced the birth of Raha with a sweet note. In their statement, the couple said, "And in the best news of our lives:-Our baby is here... and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love-blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!! love love love Alia and Ranbir (sic)."
Ranbir and Alia tied the knot on April 14 this year.
