Amid 'Pathaan' song 'Besharam Rang' controversy, protestors disrupt Shah Rukh Khan 'Dunki' shoot in Jabalpur, chant Hanuman Chalisa

Some Hindu right-wing representatives tried to protest at Bhedaghat, the site of marble rocks, and the picturesque Dhuadhar waterfall in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh after getting to know that Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film Dunki was being shot there, police officials said on Saturday. However, the filming had got over on Friday itself, though none of the main cast, including superstar Khan, were present for this three-day schedule, they added.

Meanwhile, SRK's body double was being used. The activists of Hinduist organization Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal reached Bhedaghat to protest against the film as soon as they came to know about the shoot. Meanwhile, at some distance from the shooting spot, the police tried to stop the protestors by barricading. When the angry activists tried to break the barricades, they were fiercely pushed by the police. They also raised slogans for hours and were seen chanting Hanuman Chalisa at the protest site. CSP Priyanka Shukla said that the film is being shot in Bhedaghat after obtaining statutory permission from the collector.

"We showed restraint. The shooting schedule was held with the permission of the Jabalpur collector. The shooting got completed on Friday itself. The protesters handed over a memorandum to the tehsildar seeking halt to the shooting," City Superintendent of Police Priyanka Shukla told PTI over the phone.

For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s first track Besharam Rang from Pathaan has courted controversy. Madhya Pradesh minister Dr. Narottam Mishra fumed over the use of saffron costumes in the song. Ever since, a demand to boycott the film has been going on all over the internet.
