Sushant Singh Rajput's lavish sea-facing rental flat in Bandra's Mont Blanc building has finally found a new tenant. After over 2.5 years, the apartment will likely get new occupants soon. The news was confirmed by Rafique Merchant, a real-estate broker in Mumbai, who had shared the ordeal of not finding tenants for the flat in December 2022.
In a statement to a news portal, Rafique said, "We have found somebody (a tenant). We are in the final stage of talks with the family to finalise things." He further told, "People are now relaxed about it (Rajput’s death) because they say it has been a while."
Sushant was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his apartment in Bandra on June 14, 2020. For almost a year, the CBI as well as the NCB investigated the case and the involvement of drugs in the entire matter.
In December 2022, Rafique had told in an interview that the NRI owner of the flat wasn't willing to rent it out to Bollywood celebrities after the entire case. He also shared, "People are scared to move into this flat. When prospective tenants would hear that this is the same apartment where he died, they would not even visit the flat. Nowadays, people are at least visiting the flat as the news of his death has become old. Yet, the deal is not getting finalised."
