Adnan Sami slams Andhra CM Jagan Reddy for his ‘Telugu Flag’ remark on RRR’s Golden Globes win, says 'separatist attitude is highly unhealthy'

The entire nation came out in support of RRR after it bagged the Best Original Song - Motion Picture award for Naatu Naatu at the Golden Globes 2023. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, congratulated the team on the big achievement. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also showered love and good wishes. However, his tweet didn't go down well with Adnan Sami.

Andhra Pradesh's CM tweeted, "The #Telugu flag is flying high! On behalf of all of #AndhraPradesh, I congratulate @mmkeeravaani, @ssrajamouli, @tarak9999, @AlwaysRamCharan and the entire team of @RRRMovie. We are incredibly proud of you! #GoldenGlobes2023."

However, Adnan slammed him for using the term 'Telugu Flag'. Hitting back at Reddy's tweet, the singer said, "Telugu flag? You mean INDIAN flag right? We are Indians first & so kindly stop separating yourself from the rest of the country...Especially internationally, we are one country! This 'separatist' attitude is highly unhealthy as we saw in 1947!!! Thank you...Jai HIND."

At the 80th Golden Globe Awards, RRR was nominated in two major categories- Best Original Song - Motion Picture and Best Non-English Language Film. It won an award for Naatu Naatu under the Best Original Song category.
