SS Rajamouli says 'RRR isn't a Bollywood film', calls it 'a Telugu film from south of India'

SS Rajamouli is basking in glory as his film RRR won the Best Original Song award for Naatu Naatu at the Golden Globes 2023. The director has been interacting with filmmakers and fans in the US. Recently, he interacted with a group of journalists, following the screening of RRR at the Directors Guild of America. During the interaction, Rajamouli said his film doesn't belong to Bollywood.

He told journalists, "RRR is not a Bollywood film, it is a Telugu film from the south of India where I come from, but I use the song to move the story forward rather than stopping the film and giving you a piece of music and dance. I just use those elements to move the story forward. At the end of the film, if you say I didn't feel it like for three hours, then I know I am a successful filmmaker."
