It’s Pathaan Day today! The day that we have all been waiting for is finally here as Shah Rukh Khan has returned to the screens after four long years with Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan. Besides King Khan, the film also features Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia. The film is a part of YRF’s spy universe and a part of YRF50 slate. Ahead of its release, the team had shared videos urging fans to fight against piracy. However, despite their calls, Pathaan has allegedly been linked online, but that has not deterred ardent fans from thronging to the theatres in droves.
Despite an anti-piracy plea by SRK, Deepika and John, the film has been illegally leaked online. According to reports, Pathaan has already appeared on several piracy websites like TamilRockers, Filmywap, Filmyzilla, 123movies, 123movierulz and Onlinemoviewatches, among others in several formats. Reportedly, Pathaan is available in 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p and HD formats across these portals. One website describes their version as a 'camrip' and the other as a 'pre-DVD rip.'
In an Instagram post, SRK had earlier written, “As Pathaan fights for India, you too can be a soldier for our film industry to fight piracy. Watch Pathaan only in theatres and say No to piracy. The power is in your hands. Notify us atreportpiracy @yashrajfilms.com (sic).” Similarly, Deepika and John too shared the same message with their character stills from Pathaan.
However, piracy has not lessened the excitement as the film saw a bumper opening on its first day and has already broke records through its advance bookings. Pathaan is already predicted to join the Rs 100 crore club by the end of this week.
