Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham's Pathaan revived theatres across the country after a dry spell. Many theatres and cinema halls that were forced to shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic and even before that, were reopened to accommodate shows for fans. After several years, theatres in Kashmir and Srinagar opened doors for the audience who desired to watch the superstars on the big screen.
Acknowledging Pathaan's success across the country and especially its impact in Srinagar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi indirectly praised the film during his speech in the Lok Sabha yesterday. While addressing the issue of the improvement in the security situation in the Union Territory, he said, "Theatres in Srinagar are running houseful after decades."

Before the release of Pathaan, the Prime Minister instructed his party leaders to avoid making unnecessary comments on films. The order came after several protests across the country were called against the song Besharam Rang.
Apart from Kashmir, Pathaan revived shut theatres in states like Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and even Maharashtra. Almost every show across the country is going houseful.
As of Wednesday, Pathaan's worldwide collection stood at Rs. 877 crores gross worldwide and Rs. 452.95 crores nett in India.
