After a long wait and anticipation, the third part of the popular comedy franchise Hera Pheri is all set to roll. Akshay Kumar, who had initially announced his decision to not star in Hera Pheri 3, is very much on board with Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. The original trio shot an announcement video in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Today, a picture of Akshay, Paresh and Suniel from the set went viral on social media. Slipping into the characters of Raju, Baburao and Shyam, the actors made fans nostalgic. For Hera Pheri 3's announcement video shoot, Akshay was seen dressed in Raju-style printed shirt and pink pants. Paresh wore Baburao's trademark dhoti whereas Suniel transformed into Shyam once again.
In November last year, Akshay told at an event, "Hera Pheri 3 was offered to me, I was told about it but I was not satisfied with the screenplay and script. I have to see what people want to watch and that's why I backed off. I had to take a step back. Hera Pheri is a huge part of my life and journey. Mujhe dukh ho raha hai ki main nahi kar pa raha. I am not happy with the way things have shaped up."
Paresh then went on to confirm that Kartik Aaryan was approached for the film to play a new character, Paresh confirmed, "Yes it’s true." Netizens expressed their disappointment. However, after multiple meetings and closed-door discussions, the makers succeeded in bringing Akshay back to the franchise. With this, it is confirmed that Kartik isn't a part of Hera Pheri 3.
According to reports, Farhad Samji will be directing Hera Pheri 3. As per the initial buzz, Anees Bazmee and Raaj Shaandilyaa were approached to helm it. The female leads of the film are yet to be finalised, if reports are to be believed.
