A day after Alia Bhatt called out a group of paparazzi for invading her privacy by clicking unauthorised pictures of her, the Mumbai police reached out to the actress to provide instant assistance in the matter. According to a media agency, the cops asked her to file a complaint in the matter.
The Mumbai police told the media agency, "Mumbai Police has contacted actor Alia Bhatt & asked her to file a complaint in the matter where a photographer clicked her private pictures & these pictures were published on an online portal. The actor has told police that her PR team is in touch with the concerned portal."
On Tuesday, Alia slammed a leading daily and its photographers for clicking her pictures while she was sitting in the living room of her Bandra apartment. The publication shared those pictures on their Instagram handle. Calling the act a 'gross invasion of privacy', the actress shared the post on her Instagram stories and wrote, "Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my LIVING ROOM when I felt something watching me... I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighbouring building with a camera right at me! In what world is this okay and allowed? This is a gross invasion of someone's privacy! There's a line you just cannot cross and it's safe to say all lines were crossed today!"
After receiving backlash for the post, the publication pulled it down. Alia's mother Soni Razdan and sister Shaheen Bhatt condemned the act. Bollywood celebrities came out in the actress' support and criticised the photographers and the publication.
