Akshay Kumar is one of the most bankable stars in Indian cinema and although the actor does multiple projects in a year, he ensures that he pays his taxes on time. In fact, he was the highest taxpayer from the entertainment industry last year and received a Samman Patra, an honour certificate from the Income Tax department. Now, in a recent television interview the actor spoke about being a proud son of an accountant who pays his taxes on time.
When he was asked about being praised by the Income Tax department for being the highest taxpayer and fulfilling his responsibilities, Akshay said, “Aap apna tax bharoge toh woh baat karenge. Mujhe bahut achha lagta hai ek accountant ka ladka apne taxes barabar deta hai. Mereko daddy yehi sikha ke gaye the ki beta tax apna acchi tara bharte rehna. Main nahi chahta ki ghar pe koi aaye yeh poochhne ki ghar pe kahaan maal chhupa rakha hai aapne (If you pay your taxes then they will talk. I am proud that an accountant's son pays his taxes properly. My dad taught me to pay my taxes. I don't want anyone to come to my house and ask where I have hidden the money)."
