Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela are expecting their first child this year. While they are prepping to take on the role of parents soon, the couple is on a work tour in the US. Ram Charan's film, RRR, has made it to the Oscars 2023 under the Best Original Song category and he's busy promoting it in the US. Upasana is with him. During his appearance on the Good Morning America Show, the actor spoke about gearing up for his first baby and hinted that Upasana will deliver the child in the US.
However, in a new statement, Upasana, a renowned philanthropist, confirmed that her and Ram Charan's first child will be born in India. She said, I am thrilled to have our first baby delivered in our home country - India, surrounded by a world-class medical OB/GYN team at The Apollo Hospitals, including Dr Sumana Manohar, Dr Rooma Sinha and now Dr Jennifer Ashton from the Good Morning America Show. This journey holds many exciting experiences for us and we look forward to this new phase in our lives with great anticipation."
During his appearance on Good Morning America Show, celebrity gynecologist Jennifer Ashton asked Ram Charan, "How much new-dad fear do you have?" In response, the actor shared, "All these years, when we didn’t plan I was pretty available for my wife and right now I’m just packing and unpacking. So doc, I’m glad I met you, I’m going to take your number and my wife is going to be in the US for a while."

On December 12, 2022, Ram Charan and Upasana announced the news of expecting their first child after almost 10 years of marriage. The announcement note read, "With the blessings of Shri Hanuman Ji, we are delighted to share that Upasana and Ram Charan are expecting their first child. With love and gratitude-Surekha and Chiranjeevi Konidela, Shobana-Anil Kamineni."
