Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga’s Netflix documentary short, The Elephant Whisperers, won the Oscar for Best Documentary Short category at the 95th Academy Awards. The film was competing against Haulout, How Do You Measure a Year?, The Martha Mitchell Effect and Stranger At The Gate. Now, the big win is being celebrated by Amul Topical. Amul paid an adorable tribute featuring Guneet, Kartiki and the Amul girl standing beside an elephant. It has been captioned as ‘Haathi Mere Saathi' and ‘Amul jumbo taste’. Reacting to the Amul tribute on her Instagram Stories, Guneet simply wrote ‘BEST’. The tribute sketch shows Guneet and Kartiki holding the Oscar trophy in their hands and the elephant too is seen in a celebratory mood as it stands on its two feet.
The Elephant Whisperers is a short documentary film about the heartwarming story of a couple who have been given an orphaned elephant, Raghu, to look after. The story follows Raghu’s recovery and survival, weaving a beautiful tale of unconditional love and bond between the couple and Raghu, as per the synopsis available.
