Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan released on January 25, 2023 but is still going great guns at the box office. The film has broken several records at the box office and brought SRK back on screen after his last release, Zero that came out in 2018. Director Siddharth Anand has been on cloud nine after the stupendous success of his film. Now, in a recent interview, he spoke about the iconic scene in Pathaan where SRK and Salman Khan team up after decades, many calling it the highlight of the film. During the interview, he recalled Salman’s reaction to the iconic scene which apparently had some reference to latter and SRK’s film Karan Arjun.
Talking about Salman and Shah Rukh reuniting for Pathaan, Siddharth said, “Yeah, it was nostalgic for me also. Especially for the last running on the train scene. I told Salman to shout ‘bhaag Pathaan bhaag’ and told him to do it like ‘bhaag Arjun bhaag (from Karan Arjun).’ It wasn’t in the script. It was funny and I had to convince Salman to do it. It was so much fun.”
He further added and revealed Salman’s reaction and said, “He (Salman) laughed. He said ‘You are not serious.’ I said ‘yes I want you to do it’. He did it so well. He is like clay. He is so sweet and just needs love and pampering. He got a lot of that from me. He did exactly what I told him to do.”
Pathaan also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra under his production banner Yash Raj Films (YRF).
