Varun Dhawan got trolled massively for lifting international star Gigi Hadid in his arms and kissing her. They attended the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) gala last evening and during his performance, the actor pulled her up and set the floor on fire. A netizen accused Varun of forcefully lifting Gigi and kissing her without her consent.
However, in a tweet, Varun clarified that the act was planned and that Gigi knew what would happen on the stage. "I guess today you woke up and decided to be woke. So lemme burst ur bubble and tell u it was planned for her to be on stage so find a new Twitter cause to vent about rather then going out and doing something about things," he tweeted.

In a now-deleted tweet, the Twitter user wrote, "If you are a woman, you are not safe anywhere with anyone. Even if you are Gigi Hadid, invited to a party with an "elite" crowd, guys like Varun Dhawan will randomly pick you up and kiss you without your consent, all in the name of fun. Disgusting."
In the viral video from the gala, Varun was performing on the stage. He then called Gigi and held her hand as she walked up. Once she was on the stage with him, he lifted her. Before left the stage, he kissed her.
