The Elephant Whisperers made the country proud by winning the Best Documentary Short Film at the 95th Academy Awards held on March 12 in Los Angeles. Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves and produced by Guneet Monga, the film explored the lives of Bomman and Bellie who are taking care of orphaned baby elephants named Raghu and Ammu.
Now, during his visit to the Theppakadu elephant camp in Tamil Nadu's Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR), Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Bomman, Bellie and their babies- the elephants. He tweeted pictures with the couple and wrote, "What a delight to meet the wonderful Bomman and Belli, along with Bommi and Raghu."
