According to reports, Yash Raj Films has decided to take a break from signing Ranveer Singh for its upcoming projects. Reportedly, the actor's consecutive box office failures post the pandemic forced them to allegedly not take any new scripts to him. For the unversed, Ranveer made his debut under YRF with the film Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) and went on to do more projects like Gunday (2014), Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl (2011), Befikre (2016), Kill Dil (2014) and Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022) with the production house.
As per an entertainment portal's report, YRF is looking at Ranveer's box office record which hasn't been impressive since Gully Boy (2019). Reportedly, the production house is taking every measure to make the upcoming films grand and is focusing on delivering the quality of content and experience required to make a project successful at the box office.
Reportedly, the break will not be permanent and when the production house gets a script that's suitable for Ranveer, the collaboration will materialise. In 2022, reports claimed that Ranveer parted ways with the production house's talent management branch amicably.
Post the pandemic, Ranveer's three major films released in theatres. Kabir Khan's 83 came in 2021, however, the film failed to perform well at the box office. The actor returned with Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Cirkus in 2022 but they were not accepted by the audience.
