Late filmmaker Yash Chopra's wife and Aditya Chopra-Uday Chopra's mother, Pamela Chopra, passed away at the age of 74. Yash Raj Films officially confirmed the news on social media with a statement.
In the official statement, Yash Raj Films wrote, "With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place at 11 am today in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection."
Pamela worked as a writer and singer. She sang several film songs, mostly for her husband's films like Kabhie Kabhie (1976), Chandni (1989) and Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (2002) to name a few. She produced the film Aaina (1993) independently. Pamela also co-wrote the script of Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) along with Yash Chopra, Aditya and Tanuja Chandra. Mrs. Chopra appeared on screen once in the opening song, Ek Duje Ke Vaaste from Dil To Pagal Hai.
She was last seen in the documentary based on Yash Raj Films and her husband titled The Romantics.
