Renowned veteran actress, Sulochana Latkar, is no more. She breathed her last at the age of 94 in Mumbai at a hospital on Sunday. The nonagenarian was said to be in a critical state and was in the hospital due to shortness of breath and other age-related ailments.
Sulochana Latkar, also known as Sulochana Didi, was hospitalised in March when her health deteriorated. The Padma Shri awardee received monetary assistance from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. She was discharged in three weeks.
Reportedly, the actress' funeral is expected to take place today at Dadar cremation grounds.
Workwise, she acted in nearly 300 films in Hindi and Marathi. The actress played the mother to actors including Amitabh Bachchan. Sulochana Didi was awarded the Padma Shri Award and the prestigious Maharashtra Bhushan Award in 2009 by the Government of Maharashtra.
She acted in films like Ab Dilli Dur Nahin, Sujata, Aaye Din Bahar Ke, Dil Deke Dekho, Aasha, and Majboor, Nai Roshni, Aayi Milan Ki Bela, Gora Aur Kala, Devar, Bandini among several others.
