Ali Sethi and Shae Gill's Pakistani-Punjabi song Pasoori was made for Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's upcoming film Satyaprem Ki Katha. The rendition was released yesterday on YouTube. Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar took over the mic for the Hindi version. Titled Pasoori Nu, it left the internet divided. While some loved the freshness, a section of people felt the remake was unnecessary and uncalled for.
Later in the day, Arijit was trending on Twitter but for a different reason. A bunch of tweets and screenshots went viral as fans discovered the singer's unverified account on the microblogging site. Being candid with his fans, the singer apparently revealed the reason behind agreeing to the remake of Pasoori.
Can I ask one thing? Why did you say yes to this ?
I mean it's your choice but Just a curiosity
I mean when you knew it way before we started talking about it— somASree (@Phire_Faqeera) June 26, 2023
When a person asked, "Can I ask one thing? Why did you say yes to this ? I mean it's your choice but Just a curiosity I mean when you knew it way before we started talking about it," a tweet from the account claimed, "The maker has promised me a yearly fund for a school for underprivileged." As of now, the account holds less credibility as it is unverified.
