A live-in relationship has been explored umpteen times in the Indian film fraternity. But did you ever imagine a story wherein a girl moves in with her boyfriend's family and vice versa before getting married to understand each other's backgrounds and cultures? Karan Johar is making it possible with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. It is a story of a Bengali girl named Rani who falls in love with a Punjabi boy, Rocky. While they desire to marry, the primary obstacle is their respective families and the diverse backgrounds they come from. 

The trailer of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani showcased how Rocky struggles to fit into Rani's sophisticated and educated family. Rani too faces challenges while trying to impress Rocky's disciplined and rigid grandmother (Jaya Bachchan).
