Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta starrer Koi Mil Gaya is one of the most remembered and sought-after films of Bollywood. The film released on August 8, 2003, will be soon completing 20 years. Even after two decades of its release, the film has managed to make a special place in the heart of the audiences. To celebrate the 20 years of the film, the makers have decided to re-release it on August 4 across 30 cities in India.
The re-release, meanwhile, will take place in 30 cities and will be a tight release. However, the prints can increase depending on the demand. Multiplex chain PVR INOX has decided to re-release the film in Indian cities and territories like Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Aurangabad, Kolkata, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, Indore, Gwalior, Jaipur, Noida & Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Dehradun, Delhi, Gokrakhpur, Gurgaon, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Mohali, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kochi, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore and Bengaluru.
Commenting on the re-release, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan said the team at PVR Inox reached out to him to celebrate 20 years of Koi Mil Gaya. Both parties jointly decided to re-release the film as the idea is to relive its nostalgia.
Earlier this year, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Jab We Met (2007) made a return to the cinemas in the Valentine’s Day week. Last year, several memorable films of Amitabh Bachchan got a release in cinemas on the occasion of the mega star’s 80th birthday.
