Karan Johar's latest Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is flying high on success and continues to receive immense love and appreciation from the audience. At the success meet for the film, the director along with the lead star cast, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt made some interesting revelations about the film. During the conference, the song 'Kudmayi' was launched which is picturized on Rocky (Ranveer Singh) and Rani's(Alia Bhatt) wedding sequence. This song was reportedly cut from the film as it was exceeding the duration.
Karan went on to share a funny incident about shooting this song where he revealed that it was shot in April 2022, just a few days after Alia and Ranbir got married! And, Alia still wore the same mehndi that she put on her wedding. So they just darkened it and shot the entire sequence.
KJo revealed, “Alia and Ranbir got married, and four days after that we were shooting our sequence with Ranveer and Alia. So in that week, Alia Bhatt got married twice, once in real life and once in reel life. And the mehndi that Alia Bhatt’s character has in the scene is the same mehendi that she had in her wedding celebrations with Ranbir Kapoor. We just darkened it. And we shot that song ‘Kudmayi’ in Jaisalmer and Vaibhavi Merchant picturized it beautifully.”
Alia also spoke about how she had to go back to shoot the film's song just four days after her wedding. She also shared that the attire that she wore for the song, was much heavier than the one at her real wedding. The actress said “Kudmayi was shot in the same week as my own wedding. My home wedding was simple. My lehenga was light and easy. I was roaming around freely. Whereas here, the lehenga was heavy.”
