The much anticipated OMG 2 was released yesterday and is getting positive feedback. The audience are loving the concept and call it a 'bold and brave' experiment. Directed by Amit Rai, the film's collection has already crossed 10.26 crores across India on the first day of its release and is all set to rise higher. Starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam in the lead, the plot begins with Akshay in the role of the messenger of Lord Shiva who is sent to help Kanti (Pankaj), a devotee of Lord Mahadev who gets in trouble after his son is rusticated from the school, and Yami plays a role of lawyer antagonist.
In a recent interview, just before the release of OMG2, one of the lead actors spoke about the film, highlighting the fact that it has a social message in it. Pankaj said, The film is entertaining, and towards the end it gives you a social message, it is an important message. It revolves around the issues of teenagers and towards the end it talks about sex education. We know the society will not become progressive or change because of cinema. But at the same time, the film keeps values and belief systems intact in a logical way." And by the film reviews it's evident that people are loving the concept.
OMG 2 is a sequel to Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar-starrer hit film OMG which was released in 2012.
