Auction notice of Rs 56 crores for Sunny Deol's Juhu bungalow withdrawn by bank within a day; political uproar

Sunny Deol, who is currently basking in the massive success of his film Gadar 2, got into trouble after his property was put on auction by the Bank Of Baroda on Sunday to recover the amount of Rs 56 crores through an e-auction that was supposed to be held on August 25.

As per reports, Sunny who is also a member of BJP, has been defaulted with the amount of Rs 55.99 crores loan since December 2022 and bank decided to take an action regarding the same. The bank further stated that the auction of the bungalow that is known as Sunny Villa would commence at Rs 51.43 crores.

On Monday morning, a day later, the bank has notified that the notice of the sale of bungalow is withdrawn due to some technical reasons. Here is what the statement of Bank of Baroda mentioned , "Corrigendum to e-auction notice with regards to sale auction notice in respect of Mr Ajay Singh Deol alias Mr Sunny Deol stands withdrawn due to technical reasons."

But the news of the withdrawal didn’t go well with senior Congress member Jairam Ramesh. He took his twitter account to mention about both the statements of the auction and the withdrawl and expressed his disappointment towards the same. His tweet read, "Yesterday afternoon the nation got to know that Bank of Baroda had put up the Juhu residence of BJP MP Sunny Deol for e-auction since he has not paid up 56 crore owed to the Bank. This morning, in less than 24 hours, the nation has got to know that the Bank of Baroda has withdrawn the auction notice due to 'technical reasons'. Wonder who triggered these 'technical reasons'?"
