Alia, who has been having a dream run at the box office, is recently in news for starring opposite her husband Ranbir Kapoor in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. 

 Nitesh's directorial is said to be an adaptation of epic Hindu Ramayana, where Alia was to portray the role of Sita. But if latest reports are to be believed, the actress has walked out of the project due to the date issues. 

One of the sources revealed to a website, "As far as the casting is concerned, Ranbir Kapoor is still committed to playing Lord Ram, while Alia Bhatt - who was approached for the project - is no longer part of it. The actress was in talks for the role of Goddess Sita, but the collaboration didn’t work out because of date issues."

Back in July when Nitesh was asked about Alia and Ranbir being in the film, he neither confirmed it nor denied it. 

The mythological film is expected to go on floors in mid - 2024.
