Sushmita Sen starrer, the web series Taali produced by Afeefa Nadiadwala, Arjun Baran and Kartik Nishandar, has been receiving widespread acclaim since its release on Jio Cinema on August 15. The idea for Taali originated in 2019 when Afeefa came across an advertisement featuring transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant. 

Afeefa decided to put together an inspiring web series on Gauri’s life which threw light on her as a woman, a mother, and a fellow human. Sushmita’s performance in the titular role is being hailed as the best work of the former beauty queen’s acting career. 

After hearing Gauri's story, Afeefa was determined to share her journey with audiences because it deeply moved her. She took on the challenge of bringing in accomplished writer Kshitij Patwardhan, marking the beginning of a collaboration that took Taali to new heights.

Backed with a stellar cast and the skilled directorial vision of Ravi Jadhav, the narrative of Taali underwent a remarkable transformation. Their involvement proved to be the game-changer, turning it into a series that not only resonates with audiences but also brings about meaningful change.
