Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga Kapoor’s Sikhya Entertainment’s collaborative project Kill recently had its premiere at Toronto International Film Festival and has been receiving a lot of praise. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the film introduces debutante Lakshya who is featuring alongside actor-choreographer Raghav Juyal. The mega action-thriller has been receiving a lot of appreciation on the international platforms and seems like the film is all set to make it even bigger at domestic turf.
Collider called it an aggressively violent action flick is destined to become a cult classic, mentioning, “Every single action sequence feels like an adrenaline shot of martial arts, knife fights, and body parts being dismembered. Heads are being bashed until they no longer even look human, and skulls are lit on fire like the goons are the human versions of Ghost Rider. At times it feels like a fever dream, but in the best way possible. It's the kind of bonkers action flick that is best seen with as big of a crowd as possible.”
Edge of The Reel stated, "Every time our main man (played by Lakshya Lalwani) dealt a deadly blow and the audience wert absolutely wild. Not going to lie, I also went absolutely wild.I was so impressed by every single actor’s output in their performances. You could clearly understand the characters and their emotions, see their pain and follow their actions. It was a really enjoyable film with a semi-satisfying ending. The whole film is a wild ride and totally worth a watch."
MovieBlog.com referred Kill as, “very technically proficient.”
This Is For Reel commented, “It was fantastic for Bollywood to be represented in this new wave of action cinema, and Lakshya Lalwani has a promising future as an action star.”
Twitterati present at the festival also has promising reviews to share:
It takes a bit to get going but once it picks up stream, KILL becomes the wildest Bollywood film i’ve ever seen. A violent and relentless film where a man kills a horde of enemies on a train. This is a blend of Train To Busan and The Raid that works well at midnight! #TIFF23 pic.twitter.com/b60KXzEoIA

I'm so glad I survived the day to sit through my first @mmadnesstiff What an experience. KILL is the perfect film for a packed rowdy crowd, and my god was it buzzing with cheers and gasps and ohs and ahs! Just how a bloody killer train movie should be! #TIFF23

.@Nixbhat #Kill is the most brutal, violent film to come out of India. The action, blood, gore is so well represented on the screen. This film is at par with some of the best violent, action films made internationally. It’s being compared to #Raid and yes Kill is our Raid. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/D9hjTcsBbf

Kill was fun. Plays like a mix of Bollywood romantic melodrama and very bloody, kick-ass action flick. Kinda like The Raid meets John Wick on a train in India. Midnight Madness crowd ate this up. Once the action really kicks in, it blew the roof off the RAT tonight! #TIFF23 pic.twitter.com/3rfGAZZ16W

A gripping action flick that takes the tropes and runs with it. Director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat skilfully controls the chaos and pulls no punches. Arguably the gutsiest film at #TIFF23 #Kill

KILL was bloody fun but more importantly can we talk about how enamoured I am with Guneet Monga who decided the Q&A was starting when she wanted it to, TIFF be damned. She is amazing. #TIFF23
