The Don franchise has always been one of the biggest and the most anticipated ones. Ever since the release of the last instalment back in 2011 which starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, fans have been eager for the further updates. 

Following the excitement, Farhan Akhtar recently announced the film's third part, and also mentioned about the new ‘Don’, Ranveer Singh. In the response to the same there have been mixed reactions, although some were slightly disappointed with the King Khan not being a part of the film, others got excited about seeing Ranveer in an entirely new avatar. 
In a recent interview, Farhan went on to address the same. In an interview to an international portal, he said, "I’m not in the position of replacing anybody. These are things that we discussed over the years, I wanted to take a certain direction with the story, somehow we just couldn’t find common ground. We just parted mutually knowing that it’s probably for the best. So that’s where it is."

Farhan further went on to express his excitement about the film, mentioning,"I’m really excited Ranveer’s on board. He’s so charged and so ready to go. It’s a big film, just purely from the point of view of an actor, it’s a big thing to do, and we’re really excited to have him on board. His energy is energizing us, so to speak."
