The Archies is surely one of the most awaited films of the year. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the Netflix film will feature debutants Suhana Kahn, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda and others. The action musical comedy is an Indian adaptation of Archie comics and follows the story of Betty, Archie, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel and Dilton in the fictional town of Riverdale set in 1960s.

In a recent interview with a magazine, Zoya went on to share what audience can expect from the film. She said, "I think the viewers should know that it is a live-action. It's coming onto the screen of a comic book. Yes, it's adapted to some kind of reality here. But it's pushed you know. It's over the top a little bit. And it is a comic - a comic come to life. So, look at it like that. It is like, they can expect a musical. And they can expect very very fresh performances."

The Archies is slated to release on December 7 of this year.
