Aditya Roy Kapur rose to fame after starring opposite Shraddha Kapoor in Aashiqui 2 back in 2013. Following which he saw both the sides of the coin, as some of his films had a commercial success whereas some didn’t perform well at all. Despite, the actor has got a massive fan following over the years. In a recent interview, the actor went on to share about the 2 years of self-imposed sabbatical which happened between 2017 and 2019. The actor didn’t work in any film after Ok Jaanu (2017) and finally appeared in Kalank (2019).
Aditya said, “I didn’t go to a movie set for 2 years after Ok Jaanu. Work was coming my way but I didn’t like anything and it ended up being a long period of time. The day I walked onto the Kalank set, it was exactly two days into the year that I hadn’t shot. Those periods can be trying but there has to be some sort of internal belief to know that it all comes and goes and it will happen.”
Further adding about having some unsuccessful releases in the beginning of his career.
He said, “It was jarring for me that my first film didn’t do well. It’s not like there was any pressure on my shoulders but I got to deal with that early on,” he said, adding that the negativity and self-doubt does creep in “but you just knock it off and go back to work.”
