Deepika Padukone needs no introduction. With a career spanning over 15 years, being an outsider, DP is today one the top-most actresses in the fraternity but even for her it wasn’t an easy journey. In a recent interview, she went on to share about how she had to step in the field which was full of unknown faces yet she made it big and she is proud of herself for that.

Deepika was further asked about her comments on nepotism and if it was a barrier for her to which she responded,  “I had no choice. When you were an outsider 15 or 20 years ago, there was no other option. It’s an uphill task for any individual trying to make a mark in a field or profession that their parents don’t come from. The fact that we’ve started to articulate things like nepotism is a new trend. It existed then, it exists now, and it will continue to exist. That was my reality.”
