The news about Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming directorial Ramayana was all over the headlines last year. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravan, the film is surely one of the most-awaited projects.
According to the latest reports, Lara Dutta and Bobby Deol who has received a lot of praise for his recent role in Animal, are being approached to join the film. Lara to appear in the role of Princess Kaikeyi and Bobby is approached for portraying Kumbhkaran. Whereas Lara is expected to join the cast in March, Bobby hasn't responded yet and is to take a call on doing it in another 2 months.
The source in one of the entertainment websites mentioned, “Nitesh Tiwari wants to cast actors who are apt to play the characters belonging to the most timeless tale of Indian History. He feels Lara Dutta is perfect to play the part of Princess Kaikeyi, the third consort of King Dasharatha. It’s a pivotal character that leads to the entire conflict in Ramayana, and Lara is excited to entire the fantastical world of Nitesh Tiwari.”
The source further added, “Bobby is yet to get back to Nitesh Tiwari on Ramayana. He might or might not do the film, and will take a call in the next 2 months. Post the success of Animal, Bobby is right now flooded with offers from across the industry and he will be making his choices over the coming few months.”
Earlier reports also suggested about Sunny Deol taking the role of Lord Hanuman in the film, but there has been no confirmation for the same.
