Sonam Kapoor has never disappointed the fashion police with her sartorial choices. Be it edgy pantsuits, princessy dresses or classic sarees, she knows how to set the bar high. Recently, the actress attended celebrity photographer and friend Apeksha Maker's wedding reception. Ditching glamourous lehengas and traditional Kanjeevarams, Sonam wore a red Ghar Chola saree.
The Ghar Chola weave is exclusive to Gujarat. Traditionally, it is worn by brides as it reportedly signifies their union with their marital home. Sonam opted for the traditional Gujarati Seedha Pallu drape. Sharing pictures on Instagram, she revealed that the saree belongs to her mother Sunita Kapoor and is 35 years old.
Her caption read, "Wearing my mom’s 35-year-old ghar chola.. Thanks mama for lending me this sari and blouse, love raiding your closet.. Do you know what a ghar chola is and the significance of it? Would love to know your answers in the comment section."
Workwise, Sonam is set to return to films after her maternity break. She has a couple of films lined up. One of them is Battle Of Bittora. Her other films are yet to be announced.
