Vintage Reimagined – that was the theme for the INIFD Launchpad show at Lakm Fashion Week x FDCI at Jio World Convention Centre.
Yash Gada said it with the Dhagedaar Denim collection that featured bell-bottom jeans with dramatic flares and the high-waist versions along with the double-denim ensembles, while the distressed, faded finishes were the high point of the jeans and jackets.
Manisha and Rashmi featured Checkmate inspired by The Archies film with fabrics ranging from cotton, satin and cotton denim that brought the bold experimental designs into the limelight.
Ishita Sikka’s I collection was inspired by hypnotic patterns, erotic images and enigmatic thoughts. It brought a new version of dyeing the denim fabric and doodling on it with fabric markers.
Priya and Kanwari said it with The New Corner that worked around a colour palette that blended beige, brown and bluewith the silhouettes bringing in power suit drama that featured timeless paisleys with classic plaids. It was a look inspired by the young urban professionals.
Palak Uke with the Japanese Vintage collection was a streetwear line that took inspiration from a merger of Western, traditional and Avant Garde impressions of the 70s and 80s.
And ending the show was the statuesque star Karishma Tanna,making heads turn with her black, floor-length, front-buttoned, coat-dress. The highlights of the ensemble were the trailing strands that gently swayed on the sleeves and hemline.
