Lakme Fashion Week: First with the next!

Fresh flair was in the air at the opening show of LakmFashion Week x FDCI at Jio World Convention Centre. Yes, as usual, the wondrous week kicked off with the INIFD presents GenNext showcase. It was a case of four for the show with glow and glam galore.

First in line was Kriti Greta Singhee with her Third Space - Sustainable Future collection, a focus on the creative flow of geometric patterns, mathematical art and folds. The colour had that sheen and soothing appeal with warm and earthy hues.

Next it was time for Shimona Agarwal to unveil her Hue line, a re-imagination of fashion for the modern soul and a modern interpretation of crafts and styles that could transcend seasons.

The creations were in pure handwoven silk, tastefully textured into a 3D canvas of intricate crinkling and ironing processes.

Third was Rohitash Notani’s with his Rosani label that combined unconventional masculinity with sensuality. It was time for the Anima & Animus collection, all about workwear and uniform fabrics like cotton drill and Oxford, presented with a splash of embroidered materials, trims and florals. Boxy cuts and beads of bugles made a flashy fashion statement. An extreme look was the gartered, sheer, black socks on the runway.

And the fourth was Charmee Ambavat of The Terra Tribelabel with the collection inspired by indigenous tribes of Africa and the painted mud houses. The Indigene collection merged nuances of masculine and feminine elements. Perky playsuits, cargo pants, matching jackets, sleek suits and sets of trousers and blousons stood out with the mini balloon dress adding a fun element to the look.
