Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, parents of the late Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala, welcomed a new addition to their family—a baby boy named Shubhdeep, honoring his late brother, Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu. Recently, images featuring Balkaur, Shubhdeep, and Sidhu were displayed at Times Square, New York, and videos capturing this moment have surfaced online.
A fan posted a video showcasing the homage to Sidhu Moose Wala and his newborn brother at Times Square, stating, "A significant moment for Sidhu Moose Wala: His father and newborn baby's image illuminated in New York's Times Square." The video displays a photograph of Balkaur and Shubhdeep, along with a childhood snapshot of Sidhu. Additionally, one image captures Sidhu alongside his father.
One fan exclaimed, "A monumental occasion for Times Square," in response to the video. Another admirer described Sidhu as a "born star" and "Pride of Punjab."
One supporter declared the 'legend is back,' while another deemed the newborn baby 'fortunate.' Many fans expressed their admiration with heart emojis beneath the video, with some pondering the considerable cost of securing space at Times Square for the tribute paid to Sidhu.
Two years following the passing of their son Sidhu, Balkaur and Charan joyously welcomed a baby boy. Recently, Balkaur took to Instagram to post a snapshot of his newborn son alongside a photo of Sidhu with the caption 'legends never die.' Additionally, he shared a heartfelt video expressing gratitude to the hospital staff for their care. The emotional video captures Balkaur and Charan cherishing moments with their newborn. To mark the occasion, Balkaur cut and shared a cake in celebration.
In a video message shared on both X and Instagram, Balkaur claimed that the Punjab government was scrutinizing the family regarding the 'legitimacy' of the child, following reports that Shubhdeep was born via IVF. Balkaur also asserted his intention to furnish all necessary legal documentation for the child to the government.
At the age of 28, Sidhu was fatally shot on May 29, 2022, in Mansa. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Mansa Civil Hospital. The assailants discharged more than 30 rounds at him, and he was discovered in the driver's seat by local residents.
