Filmmaker Payal Kapadia's directorial "All We Imagine as Light" has entered the competition becoming the first film after 30 years from India to be nominated in Cannes.
The last film from India that was chosen for the prestigious platform was Shaji N Karun's project 'Swaham' which enterd the race back in 1994.
Following, the filmmaker has been receiving congratulatory wishes from all over. Anurag Kashyap also went on to extend his wishes to the filmmaker and shared a story on his Instagram handle with a caption, "Indian film at competition in @festivaldecannes. Congratulations Payal Kapadia."
The film follows a story of a nurse Prabha, who receives a gift from her husband that turns the things in her life upside down.
Cannes Film Festival 2024 is set to commence on May 14 and will conclude on May 25.
