Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to bring his dream project 'Heeramandi: the Diamond Bazaar' to the audience next month which will also mark the OTT debut of the filmmaker.
Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Manisha Koirala, Shekhar Suman and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead, the anticipation for the premiere of the series has been brimming among the audience.
In a recent interview, Shekhar who is portraying the role of Nawab Zulfikar in the project, talked about the attitude and nature of the director and went on to defend him for being termed as 'angry' or 'hard to work with' at times.
After being asked if the filmmaker is short-tempered, Shekhar said, “So what? How does it matter? He has every right to be. Why does he get angry? He’s not a madman. He is a perfectionist. You will notice that perfectionists are always short-tempered because they get impatient with everybody else for not being at their level.”
He further added, “I know of so many people who are legends in their craft but are also short-tempered. K Asif, Mehboob Khan, and Raj Kapoor were all like this. So, it doesn't matter. It is all fair. In fact, I will tell him , 'Aur gussa karo' . See what he is creating not only for you but also for posterity.”
'Heeramandi: the Diamond Bazaar' will release on Netflix on May 1.
