Some Bollywood sites have got it wrong! Akshay Kumar’s female lead in Mudassar Aziz’s September 2024 comedy-drama Khel Khel Mein is not Taapsee Pannu as has been reported. PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that the actress bagging this coveted role in the film is the lovely Vaani Kapoor who acted opposite Akshay in the 2021 espionage action thriller Bell Bottom that was shot during Covid in Glasgow and London. They made a striking couple. 

Bell Bottom was the first film theatrically released after Covid even though there was a lockdown in several states. Akshay’s performance, the art direction, screenplay, background score and cinematography received high praise and subsequently when Bell Bottom premiered on Amazon Prime Video, it was a widely watched and became a huge success. So this is the actor’s second film opposite Vaani Kapoor.

Khel Khel Mein, a comedy of errors revolving around three couples, also stars Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal and Fardeen Khan. It promises to redefine the comedy-drama genre that Mudassar Aziz (Happy Bhag Jayegi, Pati Patni Aur Woh) is famous for and offer “a rollercoaster ride of emotions that transcends the ordinary”. Going by their past collaboration in Baby, Naam Shabana and Mission Mangal, some Bollywood sites mistakenly reported that Akshay and Taapsee are paired opposite each other in Khel Khel Main. Not true. It’s Vaani Kapoor who gets this honour. And you heard it first on PeepingMoon.com.
