Manisha Koirala recently appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' and has been winning the hearts of the audience with her performance.

Now, the actress revealed that Bollywood diva Rekha was offered her role years back. 

She said, "I believe so. She mentioned that 18-20 years ago, she was offered this role."

For the unversed, 'Heeramandi' has been on Sanjay's cards for years. 

In one of the recent interviews, the filmmaker also revealed that he initially considered several other actors for the roles across time before he finally finalized the cast.

Released on May 1, the series also stars Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Shekhar Suman and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead. 

The series is streaming on Netflix.
