Dia Mirza and her husband Vaibhav Rekhi celebrated their son Avyaan's third birthday with an intimate outdoor party, attended by close friends and family, including Soha Ali Khan and Neha Dhupia. Dia shared several photos from the celebration on her Instagram stories, offering a glimpse into the cozy gathering.
In the pictures, Dia is seen helping Avyaan cut his birthday cake, surrounded by loved ones. She expressed her joy and gratitude in a heartfelt post, writing, "14th May 2024 Our heartbeat turned 3 yesterday, Avyaan Azaad, you have taught us the power of faith, patience, love and gratitude. Bless you our little master! Thank you for choosing us to be your parents. Thank you for making every day joyful."
Dia Mirza was previously married to Sahil Sangha, with whom she parted ways in 2019. She married Vaibhav Rekhi in 2021, and they welcomed their son Avyaan on May 14, 2021.
Dia had a challenging pregnancy with Avyaan, as she once shared with Bollywood Hungama. During her fifth month of pregnancy, she underwent an emergency appendectomy, which led to a bacterial infection and haemorrhaging placenta. The doctors had to deliver Avyaan prematurely to prevent sepsis, a life-threatening condition for both mother and child. Avyaan underwent surgery within 36 hours of birth and another one three and a half months later. During this period, he remained in the NICU, and Dia was unable to hold him for the first two and a half months of his life.
