Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan announced their separation back in 2021 but remained friends throughout.

The duo was spotted together at the wedding of Aamir’s daughter Ira Khan that took place earlier this year and also collaboratively worked on the project ‘Laapataa Ladies’ which was directed by Kiran and produced by Aamir’s Aamir Khan Productions.

In one of the interviews, Kiran talked about her marriage with the actor and said that it was due to the parents pressure to some extent that they had to tie the knot sooner.

She said, "Amir and I
lived together for a year before we got
married, and honestly, we did it more because
parents and you know... all the rest of it and even at that time we knew that it's a great institution if you can function as individuals as well as a couple within that institution."

She added, "It gives you a new family, relationship and a  sense of security. “

Kiran and Aamir married in 2005 and have a son Azad Khan.

The actor was previously married to Reena Dutta with whom he has 2 children, Junaid Khan and Ira.
