Chhaya Kadam starrer 'All We Imagine As Light' became the winner of Grand Prix prize.
Directed by Payal Kapadia, the film also became the first project from India to be selected in Cannes after 30 years to compete for the prestigious award Palme d'or.
As the film was awarded, Chhaya, who has been a part of films like 'Singham' and 'Madgaon Express' couldn't resist from grooving in the joy of victory.
The video of the actress' dance was quick to surface on social media.
In a recent interview, she mentioned how she got a call asking about her dance.
She said, "Someone from Mumbai called and joked, 'You were dancing as if you were in your own courtyard'.”
She further added, “I was like, 'Kyun nahin?' Just to be part of the main competition after 30 years is a huge achievement, not to count the award that we won. Why follow protocol? Hum apni khushi aise hi dikhaate hain, kood kood kar."
She concluded, "When we stood still for photographs, even the photographers started requesting us to keep dancing. There was just so much happiness around."
Cannes Film Festival began on May 14 and concluded on May 25.
