Sanya Malhotra begs ‘Best Actress’ award at New York Indian Film Festival 2024

Ever since her role in ‘Dangal’, Sanya Malhotra has been a part of several projects proving her versatility as an actress.

This time it’s even bigger as she has been presented with the ‘Best Actress’ award at the New York Indian Film Festival for her role in ‘Mrs’

The film  a Malayalam remake of ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ and is directed by Arati Kasab. It is set to hit the big screen soon. 

The plot follows Sanya’s character navigating through the challenges and expectations imposed by society on her marital life. 

Through it she embarks on a journey of self- discovery, striving to find her own voice and identity while dealing with the constant pressures from the new family. 

The film has been receiving much praise while it’s showcase and the actress has too been lauded for her performance throughout.

Her win at the festival is just another proof of her versatility as a performer. 

Besides, Sanya will also star in upcoming Dharma Productions film ‘Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari’. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Rohit Saraf and is set to release next year.

Sanya most recently starred in Shah Rukh Khan led ‘Jawan’ which released in the September of last year and went on to break several records emerging as the top film of the year. 

It also starred Deepika Padukone, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead.

The actress also featured in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ which released last year and also featured Vicky Kaushal and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead.
